iMediaTouch Workstation Requirements

The following are a list of Requirements to run iMediaTouch. When supplying your own hardware, the following minimum requirements are required to guarantee optimal performance from your iMediaTouch or iMediaLogger System. If you have any questions about the specifications provided below, please consult your iMediaTouch Sales Representative.

1280 x 1024 pixels with 16 bit color 1280 x 1024 pixels or better with 32 bit color
Network Interface
100 Mbps

Audio Device(s)
A Windows DirectSound™ compatible sound card supporting the Windows Driver Model (WDM) driver specification A Windows DirectSound™ compatible sound card supporting the Windows Driver Model (WDM) driver specification. Professional audio card(s) recommended for broadcast use.
Operating System

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

Windows 7 Pro 32 and 64 bit

* Keep machines updated with Microsoft updates. OMT tests all software on machines that have the latest patches from Microsoft.
  • Not Recommended:
    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition is not supported (lacks required networking capabilities for corporate & commercial use)
  • Microsoft Vista Operating Systems are not supported
  • AMD based processors are currently not recommended
  • iMediaTouch Version 3 software is not currently tested under Windows 2000 and therefore the reliability using this operating system cannot be confirmed

Note: If you are installing on a workstation that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2, the installer will automatically make exclusions in the Windows Firewall to allow the program to communicate with other iMediaTouch software on your network. To check what exclusions are made to your Windows Firewall, go to the Windows Firewall option in the Control Panel and click the Exceptions tab.

Note: Before installing  please make sure all of your hardware drivers are installed and functioning properly.

Note: For clients who have “I” series processors, this will meet minimum spec. We cannot test on every platform with every combination of hardware. Therefore, a minimum spec has been outlined so clients know what they will require and if they exceed that value.

iMediaTouch Server Requirements

The following are a list of Requirements to run iMediaTouch and using a server to store your library(s). When supplying your own hardware, the following minimum requirements are required to guarantee optimal performance from your iMediaTouch or iMediaLogger System. If you have any questions about the specifications provided below, please consult your iMediaTouch Sales Representative.

Hardware Minimum Recomended
Processor Intel Pentium 4 class processor, at least 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 2 GHz or higher, Quad Core, Core x2, Core Duo
Hard Drive Setup

Separate OS drive.

Separate storage Drive.

Storage or array size is dependent on the amount of audio to be ingested or stored

Separate OS drive or array (RAID 1 is fine)

Separate storage array on a RAID 5 array.

Storage or array size is dependent on the amount of audio to be ingested or stored

3 WARE RAID 5 controllers, specifically, 9650 series have been tested to work.
